Delightful family dinner (in town for a funeral) at a nice new find in Santa Barbara. FOOD & DRINK - Food -- from salads to pasta to meats to desserts -- was all high grade and enjoyed by everyone there. The cocktail menu had some clever mixes, and the wine menu offered plenty (maybe even too many) suggestions. SERVICE - Overall service was attentive and effective. The staff worked with our needs and handled a couple of unexpected situations (a couple in our party unexpectedly showing up with their kids in tow) with aplomb. AMBIANCE - While you can't really see much of the ocean, the front windows face it from across the closest street, and the sense of it being there (especially with the windows open) counts for a lot. The house itself is upscale decorated and set. VALUE - Upscale and food and service matches the upscale prices, but it felt like we got worth for what what paid. We paid a bit over $100 a person -- but that included cocktails and wine (and the two kids, who got plates of their own). NET-NET - We're not locals, but Toma is definitely going on our list for any future visits we make to Santa Barbara.
We recently dined at this place. It is a bit pricey, but the food is so worth it. Our server was really attentive and had great suggestions. We did not have a reservation, but since we went early we managed to find a table. We started with some garlic bread. We had the seafood (scallops and prawn) risotto and the lamb chops. For dessert, we had the warm chocolate torte. From start to finish, all the food was amazing. I had the risotto and each bite was so flavorful. Initially, I thought the quantity was less, but found it hard to finish at the end :)

Wonderful restaurant. Great food and drinks. We went twice in our three day trip here. I had the lamb chops one noght and the pork chop the other. Both were very tender and flavorful.
I loved this restaurant. Attentive staff, good food and the atmosphere was great. I was with family members but it is definitely a perfect place for a date night too.
Amazing lambchops, the squash blossoms were beautifully prepared. Elegant dining while also having a humble welcoming atmosphere. One of my favorite places to dine in Santa Barbara.
Very good and attentive service, the staff is awesome. Drinks are delicious, although a little on the expensive side. Food came out quick and was extremely good. All the flavors were there in a wonderful medley which came together beautifully. Highly recommend the tuna cones, the sesame went so well with the tuna! Catch of the day was trout which was also very good. And the pastry desert was super flaky and yummy, but I did like the olive oil cake flavors better. Only thing I didn't care much for was the pork belly appetizer - while it was cooked well, the flavor was sub-par.
Beautiful restaurant the food was absolutely delicious For appetizer we had garlic bread and added the mozzarella, so good!!! We had the Pork chop and the salmon for dinner. Both were exceptional. We had tiramisu for dessert with a cappuccino. Service was great, Thank you Jay! Can't wait to go back and try the scallops.
Toma Restaurant was such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was full of flavor and tasted fresh and authentic. The vibe was perfect, with a cozy and intimate atmosphere that made the whole evening feel special. The ambiance was beautiful, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but that’s part of its charm—it’s cute, welcoming, and has Italian vibes all the way through. Definitely a spot I’d come back to and highly recommend!
We had a great dinner and experience at Toma. We sat at the bar and it was surprisingly very comfortable with seat backs and a bar for our feet. The bartender was very nice and did a great job serving us. Our favorite thing we ordered was the calarmi, scallop, shrimp appetizer. The breading was seasoned delicious! I ate every piece. We also got the garlic bread with cheese and I thought it was okay. My husband really liked it but I thought it could taste more fresh. I like that it came with marinara sauce. For the entrees, I got the shrimp and scallop duo and my husband got the seafood pasta. Both were very yummy and the seafood was cooked perfectly. The only thing we’d change is both were swimming in butter. Which while butter can really enhance a dish, it was too much and made it feel overly greasey. Overall, it was a great experience and we’d go back
